Dixie or Eurydice, to give her her full name, is the smaller of my two cats. They’re siblings and in almost everything – temperament, feeding, bravery, softness of fur, sheer bloody-mindedness – she comes second to her more boisterous brother. She excels in one thing: moaning about being in the car (which does her no harm and where they are well cared for in their comfortable travel box). But she is a beauty and here she is, basking in this morning’s bright, low-slanting sunshine.

She’s gorgeous – really beautiful colouring. I love the way cats sit like that, paws neatly together, tail tucked around them (not that I can see it in the shot, but I’m guessing – I’ve just been admiring my cat Spooky sitting in the same position, basking in the sun on the kitchen table and wearing exactly the same contented expression).
What a beautiful girl.
Two beautiful images, your new header and Dixie. She is very beautiful.
She certainly is a beauty! And cats always seem to know which is their best side, don’t they?
